Imindq review for mac6/6/2023 ![]() IMindQ has a lot of features and there’s a lot you can do with it (so much so that it’s a bit overwhelming). ![]() On the main page, there’s a list of main topics, which is helpful for broader questions about map elements or collaboration. While there’s a Search button, you can’t input a keyword instead, you select the first letter of your query and then view the results. IMindQ has a thorough Help section, though it’s a bit difficult to navigate. It’s disappointing that you can’t build mindmaps together or enable other users to make changes to your maps as you can with Ideaflip and XMind. Users can then offer suggestions, which you can then incorporate if you choose. Then you need to upload maps you’d like to share. Importing is available from Outlook, Project, Word, or HTML.Īs I mentioned, in order to collaborate with others, you must connect iMindQ with SharePoint. Maps can be exported to CSV, HTML, image, Open Document Text (ODT), Outlook, PDF, PowerPoint, and Word. There’s also a built-in research module, which is a mini web browser where you can search Google Images, Twitter, and other sources, and then add search results to your mindmap. You can also choose specific elements to include and adding fade-ins and fade-outs and other effects. In presentation mode, you can go full-screen and click on elements to go through your mindmap. You can also export mindmaps as HTML and view them in a web browser. In addition, you can insert images to support the notes content and table sheets when you want the information to be structured and presented in tabular form.įor presentations, you can import and export PowerPoint slides or use elements from your mindmaps. In the notes area, you can insert text associated with the topic, and select the appropriate font and font size (and text and highlight color), and align and outline the text. A panel on the left-hand side displays smaller version of your entire mindmap, so you can easily navigate to different areas, similar to Ideaflip.Īll comments, explanations, descriptions, and details for one topic can be inserted in it by using the Topic Notes feature. You can add images, links, text, notes, and files to each element. ![]() Finally, you can also change the shapes and color schemes of the map elements. You can also set the main topic to be on the right or left, bottom or top, or adopt a free layout. The default is your basic map with the main topic in the middle, surrounded by subtopics. There are several different mindmap configurations you can create. You can also build presentations out of your mindmaps.Once you add the main topic, you can add subtopics and callouts, and create relationships between two topics on the map. ![]() Once the brainstorming process is finished, you can use iMindQ to manage projects and create tasks. It uses a drag-and drop-interface so you can move pieces around and group together topics. IMindQ’s strength is its mindmapping tools, which you build by creating the main topic with spokes connecting to as many subtopics as you wish. You can also choose from a variety of predesigned templates, such as a business plan, scorecard, lecture preparation, and much more. To start building your own mindmap, you click New under the file menu then choose from Mindmap, White board, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and Org Chart. Similar to Microsoft products, there’s a tabbed menu along the top of the screen. The opening screen helps you get started with a mindmap, with branches representing all the features in four categories: share, present, create, and stylize. You can also opt to open FreeMind (.mm) and Mindjet MindManager (.mmap) files with iMindQ by default. There is an option to install SharePoint integration, which you need in order to collaborate. The download process is done using a typical install wizard. Since I’m a PC user, I reviewed the Windows version. After that, you must pay 49 euros per year or 109 euros for a lifetime license for the Windows version, or 33 euros per year or 73 euros for a lifetime license for the Mac version. If you choose the Mac or Windows version, you can take advantage of a 15-day free trial by providing basic contact information and the number of employees in your organization. Apps for Android and iOS are also available. The online version is free, though you must connect it to your own cloud storage account. The Windows version integrastes with Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Project, SharePoint, and Word, while the Mac version is integrated with iCalendar and iReminder. It has three desktop versions: Windows, Mac, and online. IMindQ idea management software offers four main features: brainstorming, project planning, presentation, and collaboration.
